A Capture of Various Interests

Yacht Information

Price, as she sits, is $240k.

Silver Star is a well-equipped, well made and hard to Catana C381 'Owners' version built in '98.

Key differences you'll find in the owner's version layout include an office setup with desk and bookshelves that can also be setup as a 3rd berth using removable custom bunk and bunk cushions.   You'll also find a rather large shower and head in the aft portion of the starboard hull.   She is powered by highly reliable 29 HP Yanmar 3YM30FC diesels that propel her at 7 knots while sipping 2 - 3 gallons per hour.

Side picture

Under wind power she nicely sails at 7 - 12 knots in 10 - 20 knot winds and can get up into teens in 20+ knot winds.  Fastest sustained speeds was 14 knots.  Daggerboards enable her to point very well.

The Catana C381 is truly a performance oriented cruising catamaran that is perfect for those interested in an ocean capable yacht with daggerboards to get most anywhere on the Chesapeake Bay or Islands.

Silver Star has been continuosly refurbished since we acquired her in December '04.  Highlights include:  a re-power with twin Yanmar 29 engines (3YM30FC/SD20 Saildrive) with flex-o-fold props, a new main and tri-radial genny were acquired in 2017 and 2018 respectively, a Cruisair 16,000 BTU AC/Heat sytem was installed in 2016, three 150 Amp Master Volt Slimline Batteries were added in 2017, Padeyes and bowsprit were added in 2018, an Alder Barbor compressor and condensor plate was added in 2016. Her bottom has been prepped and painted each year with Petit Hyrocoat with all zincs replaced and oils changed each year.

Accommodations & Layout

Entering the spacious salon from the cockpit, there is an L-shaped settee forward.   The side facing navigation station with adjustable seat is to starboard.  To port forward , there is a top-loading refrigerator and to port aft is the galley with 3 burner stove with oven and double sinks.  Excellent storage under the settees for stores.

Wrap around windows allow excellent visibility forward while underway.  The starboard hull is dedicated to the owner with a  large double berth forward and roomy head with separate shower aft.  The port hull has been factory configured with an aft office and is  convertible to a double berth and a double berth forward with a head and shower amidship.  Both hulls have outstanding storage lockers and shelving.  Numerous opening ports and hatches are located throughout.  Five hella fans provide additional ventilation.
